Philosophy, Culture and Guiding Policy

Our philosophy is as encapsulated in our vision: To deliver competitive education that will cultivate sense of civic orientation, lend a helping hand to the less privilege and foster self-reliance. Our mission: To provide effective and culture –driven learning in a friendly environment and to mould character imbued with the fear of the creator. We do not think that the above require any elaboration. We want our students to be the best sought after in their post-secondary school stage – this is our notion of competitive education; we expect them to cultivate a sense of civic orientation at very early years by their insistence on doing some good to society; assist the less privilege, however little and see our pupils display impressive self-reliance at home and work places as they grow up. We encourage them to help at home and be ever anxious to say thank you when receive help form others.

Though our schools promote Islamic culture, we are nevertheless deliberately promoting peaceful co-existence and sensitivity to diversity. This is why we have Non-Muslims among both our teachers and pupils. Our schools promote freedom of religion and of worship. Every pupil is encouraged to learn either the Christian Religious Knowledge or the Islamic Religious Studies. We do not discriminate in our schools. Pupils are rewarded according to their performances, not according to their creed, sex or class background. Our pupils are all encouraged to live in harmony and be at peace with their neighbours. Our commitment is to creating a God – fearing and tolerant individuals who will live in fulfilment of their religious convictions by doing good to themselves, parents and society.

The Wings Schools expect students to be punctual to all schools’ functions. Students who are shabbily dressed and in dresses other than the schools’ uniform without permission, will not be tolerated. Student are expected to show respect and obedience to all including parents, teachers, visitors to schools and their seniors, obey school rules, study hard, do homework and attend classes promptly. Pupils will be taught to show willingness in helping others without endangering their lives. The schools will monitor pupils behaviours outside of the schools’ premises. Parent will be advised to pay schools’ fees promptly. The schools administration will ensure value for parental investments in their children and wards. Parental investments in children’s education are worthwhile even if parents have to deny themselves of routine consumption of some social activities, goods and services.

Indeed, the product of The schools will be well prepared to be active participants rather than on-lookers in the challenges of learning, working and living in a competitive and rapidly changing global setting. In this respect, information communication and technology becomes the key to the doors of the modern world. In our schools’, access to e-learning cannot be taken for granted. Our products shall be ahead of their peers in all respects. The wings Schools cannot accomplish these goals without the cooperation of parents and students alike. We enjoin you to cooperate with us to prepare this generation for the daunting tasks ahead of them. Our pupils will be supported in their preparation for active participation in the scheme of global citizenship and volunteerism. We wish to state, however, that this Handbook is not exhaustive and is merely complementary to other directives as may be issued from time to time by schools’ authorities.

We wish our children, teachers, workers and well-wishers happy resumption and most fruitful stay at The Wings Schools.
